Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland

Unaware that my license was suspended, I pulled into an NSA access center where they discovered and told me it was suspended. I was cited and rental car was impounded. I fixed the license situation that same day (unpaid ticket from years back). When the officer cited me for driving on a suspended license, he told me because it happened on federal property, it would be considered felony if convicted. This s scaring the hell out of me as you lose many rights as an american with a felony. Since the citation I have received a notice to appear in federal court and now im really starting to get worried. Will this be tried as a felony or misdemeanor? Do I need to prepare or can I just appear, get a fine and leave as one would do for a normal traffic violation. Thank you.

Police officers are usually not lawyers, and I would be surprised that a traffic violation would be a felony. However no one can say without knowing exactly what statute the citation charges you with violating. That said, I do not suggest that you post any more details, because fora such as this are not confidential. I offer a free initial consultation, which is confidential.
