Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Maryland

Need to Know Very Important

My father recently passed away, and he didn't have a will, and my step mother has taken all of his belongings: his house, car etc. I would like to know if she has the right to do that, and what rights do I have in this situation considering that I am his first child, and I am 18 years of age? Is there anything that I can do to rightfully retrieve any of his belongings?

You should contact an attorney where there is an issue with ensuring probate matters are properly addressed. Intestate probate applies where someone dies without a will. Any interested party can bring the matter forward.
