Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Massachusetts

I have a former friend who has accrued a debt to me in excess of $15,000 over the last 10 years. He filed for bankruptcy and listed me as a creditor- but has continued to promise me payment- Do I have the right to sue him for breach of trust?

Thanks- Sincerely, Matthew Yelle

No, unless before his bankruptcy is over he or his attorney offer to sign a Reaffirmation Agreement, which effectively takes a particular debt out of bankruptcy.
