are lawyer fees waved in chapter 7

if i file chapter 7 and owe fees to a family lawyer do those get waved with rest of debt??

It depends on what the fees were for, if they were relative to child support or the child then DEFINITELY no. If it was your own attorney absent fraud then it is probably a contractual obligation and thus dischargeable. We recently had a case were an attorney was owed 18k, judge ruled it was a contractual obligation. I would need more information to determine your case. please email me at [email protected]
