401k

Hi is it legal for my work to take my 401k money out of my check weekly and hold it in there bank then send it to the 401k company in 1/4's? What i mean is that the money only goes to the 401k company every 4 months so that means there getting the interest on it not me ?And if they do that to every employee thats a lot of money im loosing can they do that ?
