What are the pros and cons of incorporating a website business?

Usually this is an unneccessary expense without any real benefit. You should, however, consult with your tax advisor and an attorney who has expertise in formation of various different entity forms (e.g., corporation, limited liability company) to explain the costs and benefits of each option.

Re: Incorporating a Website Business

The benefit of incorporating or filing an LLC is the limited liability to you personally for debtors, absent intentional, reckless or fraudlent behavior by you personally. it limits your exposure for liability from creditors.

An LLC has some advantages over a corporation as you can elect to treat it as a non-entity for tax purposes and file your income and expense as a schedule C, self-employment income, on your tax return.

You should consult an attorney as to your need to do this depending upon what your business is.
