Legal Question in Technology Law in Massachusetts

I have a client who owes me over 10K for programming of websites. I have given them written notice that their right-to-use software license will be revoked in 30 days. I pay the hosting and intend on shutting down the website. We have very little in the way of contract. Am I liable for a loss of business lawsuit if I shut their site down?

You are likely to be sued if you shut down their website. I would suggest you send them a 93A letter demanding payment and transfer the billing for their webhosting to them directly. File suit for non-payment to collect your fee and recover your legal fees if possible.

You should contact an attorney who does collection work.

Good luck.
