Legal Question in Construction Law in Massachusetts

unlicensed

I had a septic system installed by a contractor who is apparently not licensed and can not get an inspection lawfully. He has been paid for his work and I need to get back the money to hire another contractor to rework and submit for inspection where would I start

I suggest that you contact an attorney who specializes in construction law. In Mass, performing unlicensed work may be an "unfair and deceptive" trade practice under Mass Consumer Protection Laws.

You should start by speaking with an attorney about making written demand on this contractor and seeking repayment. You may also make complaints with the BBB and the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division, also the local District Attorneys's Office asap.
