Legal Question in Consumer Law in Massachusetts

Asking for Cash settlement from company?

I recently ate a burrito that had a piece of wood (have pics of this) in it which scratched the back of my throat (no pics of this )so wrote the company complainging about this. They sent me $15 check. I expected more so told them I would expect $500 to $1000 cash settlement but didn't want to take legal action because there was no medical harm. I told them I was disappointed in customer service and intended to share my unsatisfactory experience with people on weight watchers website and other diet sites. Could this email back telling them I am dissatisfied be illegal? Is the email asking for a higher cash settlement illegal? Is anything I have done illegal? Thanks so much for your help.

I don't see anything illegal; you're allowed to negotiate on your own behalf all you want, as are they. But I am more interested in knowing what burrito place this was. Would you mind letting me know? Thank you!

I cannot see the illegality. Why do you think it may be?
