Legal Question in Consumer Law in Massachusetts

Can your own personal information such as Social Security number be given out on a police report that wasn't involving you?!

My friend had court today, he was their for some mishap that happened at walmart back in December. When he appeared in court he was given a police report. Inside this police report was my personal information. My social security number, license number, address everything someone would need to open a credit card in my name! I have no reason to be in this police report except I was in the store with him earlier that day..Nothing occurred when I was with him.
