Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts

case management conference

I am being sued by a Arrow Financial Services LLC through Zwicker & Assoc. I answered the complaint to the best of my ability and in it admitted to having tried to pay the bill off. I also included that I am disabled and my only source of income is SSI.

Zwicker entered a Motion for Judgment in reference to my Answers and it was denied. The court declared there was not a clear admission of liability.

What happens if I don't show up for a CMC, which is the next step. It's scheduled for this Fri.

I am disabled due to depression and I'm agoraphobic. I'm having a terrible time trying to deal with this.

How many times will I have to appear in court?

Re: case management conference

A case management conference is governed by Massachusetts Rule of Civil Procedure 16 and serves the purpose of articulating and simplifying the issues for trial in the interest of judicial efficiency.;) If you fail to appear at a scheduled conference without good cause, you may be subject to various sanctions, including, but not limited to, the court entering a default against you. Please feel free to contact my office for a free initial consult based on the facts of your specific situation.

Re: case management conference

If you do not appear in court, a default will enter against you. After ten days, unless the default is cured, a judgment will enter against you for the amount owed, plus costs.
