police lying on police report

i was recently arrested for poss. class d subsequent offence as well as minor pos. alcohol subsequesnt offense. the police officer stated in the police report that my rights were read to me and that my backpack was ''open and he could see the illigal contraband''. this is not true, my bag was searched illeggally and it would be my work vs. his. what should i do?

The procedure for challenging a search is to file a motion to suppress evidence. If the motion is allowed, then the evidence illegally obtained cannot be used against you as evidence. This usually means the case against you will be dropped.
