protect assets

I am currently in the beginning stages of a criminal trail for stealing money, (court date set for May 08) can I protect my assets from this trail by transfering everything (all assets) to my spouse, if not is there a way to protect asset from this case

First you are accused of stealing money, and now you want to hide it from a possible finding.

This is the wrong place to ask such questions. This is the wring mindset to have.

That is fraud and illegal. Besides that, under the statute, the transfers to your wife can all be un-done by the court, and if the money is gone, your wife is probably then exposed to liability as well. I believe in addition that if you do this and the transaction is judicially un-done, you will also be responsible for paying the attorney's fees of the party who had to go through the process to un-do the fraudulent transfer.
