Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Massachusetts

Shoplifting with excessive force

I was caught shoplifting.

I am not proud of what I did, but I have not eaten in days.

The manager at the store used extreme force with me.

I even stated I had a disability and he said I will permantly disable you.

Do I have any rights?

Re: Shoplifting with excessive force

The shopkeeper does not have the right to use physical force against you in this way. While it's not discrimination, it may well be actionable assault.
