Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I am a woman looking for a feminist lawyer in Massachusetts who is willing to help with a divorce that may require a restraining order or protection, also one that is willing to work on a sliding fee. What research can I do on my own (the case) to prepare, ie: reading, web sites etc?

For some reason I can't find much in the way of support though I hear it's out there...one can find shelters, but I have managed the safety factor as long as I keep things calm, we are mostly separated now.

Thank you in advance for any help.

One website that may be helpful is masslegalhelp.org. The probate and family court also has useful information on their website. There are many ways you can cut your legal costs by preparing documents on your own. If you and your ex can agree to the terms of your divorce, the cost is much less than if you cannot agree. Feel free to contact me for a free telephone consultation based on your specific situation.
