Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts

auto mechanics lien

I owned a motorcycle shop in mass. i closed the buisness 16 months ago and had one motorcycle left at the shop by the customer. I was not able to contact him due to he changed his phone number. There is a outstanding bill for the work performed plus indoor storage charges. I have contacted the police and court system and know one seems to know what to do. I accept the title to the motorcycle for the balanced owed. The bill is approximately $10,000.

Re: auto mechanics lien

If you have made every reasonable effort to contact the owner, including through the Registry of Motor Vehicles, you could file suit and a mechanics lien and publish notice in the newspapers where the owner lives.
