Applying for a job

If I am applying for a job in Boston/NYC and I have a SS# and a driver license is that sufficient? I have a tourist visa.

No, you will still need CIS work authorization.

Re: Applying for a job

A B-2 (tourist visa) does not authorize employment in the US. It is simply for travel within the US. If you wish to remain longer and work in the country, you will need a different type of visa. This may be an H-1B or an L-1A or another type of nonimmigrant visa.

If you wish to discuss this further and provide more details for all options, you may email me at [email protected]. Also, look at my website for more information regarding your question at www.neenalaw.com

Re: Applying for a job

No, that is not sufficient. In fact your question is rather naive. In order to have lawful work authorization there are several hurdles that you will have to overcome, depending on the job offer. I would have to know more.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
