Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Massachusetts

accosting?

My 16 year old daughter was raped by a 16 year old male last year. We are working with the ADA who recently told us the defense is asking for an accosting charge rather than going to trial. Of course I don't want to subject my daughter to a grueling trial and we don't have much evidence. However, the charge of accosting seems no nearly harsh enough and I am wondering what else is there to be charged with between accosting and rape?

Re: accosting?

Accosting and rape are worlds apart. You should confer with an attorney, or at least, you should ask the DA about this. Of course, the defense is going to ask for a lesser charge. The consequences of being convicted of a sexual charge are enormous.
