Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts

Roommates have told me to move out. They agreed to sign me off my lease. How can I get them to pay me security deposit and last month rent?

You need the landlord's consent to release you from the lease and you simply tell them you want your security deposit and last month's rent back and you will move out. If they don't give it to you and you are on the lease, they can't force you to leave.

Under law the landlord is required to keep the security deposit in a seperate account and not his account. As far as ending the lease I would need to see the terms and conditions of the lease to make a proper response.
