Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts

lawyer misconduct

This is in regard to a personal injury case where I was injured and required major surgery. My specific question is: should I object to my lawyer answering his cell phone DURING my deposition? The opposing lawyers laughed at him and said that it was the first time they'd ever seen that happen. His response was ''It was another client and not a very important one''. I was shocked. I feel now like the opposition won't take him seriously (I don't)

Re: lawyer misconduct

Although it was rude conduct, there is nothing in the ethical rules that suggests that his behavior was so eggregious. I would recommend that you talk to him and voice your concerns regarding this behavior
