Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

Abandoned property

My wife moved out of my house on 1/15/04, changing her legal residence to another location in another city. She does not own the house, the deed is solely in my name.

I have been trying unsuccesfully to get her to clean and remove her personal property from my home for the past six months, and (other than some minimal cleaning) she has not done so.

Can I consider what is still here as ''abandoned property'', and send her a letter stating that it must be removed by a certain date, or will be disposed of at her expense?

She still has keys to the house, and I would like to change the locks once her property is out of here.

Re: Abandoned property

Until all property of the parties is determined by a divorce judgment neither party may dispose of property in their possession as the Court will determine what interest each party has in the property no matter in whose name title stands.
