Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

I was engaged to be married and one day i came home to our apt to find it had been emptied out while i was at work. I was left with nothing but my clothes and some dishes. We are both on the lease. Its 1299 a month till november or 3000 to cancel the lease early. The leasing people told me they dont care who pays either it just has to be paid. Is there anything i can do to make him pay. If i still had a roommate or furniture i wouldnt have to break the least i just dont see how im at fault.

Technically your landlord is right. They do not care who pays them and legally both you and your ex are jointly liable. you can pay the rent and seek reimbursement through a suing him for his half. You may also be able to sue him for the value of all of your belongings that he took.
