Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts
I had a party at my home a few months ago. My roommate invited over one of his friends who brought a 300 dollar leather jacket. At the end of the night, someone I invited over took the leather jacket, and left her own jacket. I know who the girl is that has the leather jacket. The girl that lost the jacket filed a police report. Am I legally responsible to tell anyone that I know who has the jacket? I would prefer to stay uninvolved.

If the police question you, you have to answer them truthfully. The person who took the jacket should arrange to get the jacket back to the person who filed the report anonymously as a theft of $300 is a felony.
