Good for you!

Our office practices in all aspects of real estate, including purchase and sales, closings, condominium conversion, as well as real estate disputes and tenant landlord.

A d/b/a is just a designation filed with some authority that allows you to do business as yourself but under a different name. A d/b/a designation will not insulate you from liability in the way that an LLC or corporate status might. I welcome you to give our office a call if you would like to discuss your plans or have any questions.

That being said, you would likely just need to register your d/b/a certificate with your local city hall.
