Separating duplex into two units

I currently own a duplex (side by side units), all utilities are separate. Other than working with my mortgage company what do i need to do legally to convert the duplex into two units?

Re: Separating duplex into two units

You need to create a Master Deed and Condo Association and then deed out the two units. You need to have the building plans drawn showiing the two units, execlusive areas and common areas. You need an attorney to draft the documentation and a good journeyman architect to draw the plans.

I would be happy to assist you with the conversion. Please contact me if you are in need of assistance.
