Legal Question in Traffic Law in Massachusetts

$40 permit parking ticket

At the end of august a friend thet I am familiar with from being around other people asked if they could use my car to run an errand. A few days later I received a call from a detective stating they wanted to know who this person was because somehow there was a verbal altercation with the metermaid and he crushed up the ticket and threw it at her, so I gave them the first name of the individual that I know him by and their phone number that I had at the time. At the end of the conversation the officer stated that he wanted me to call him back with more info. A few days later I got another call stating that he wanted more info and because I could not provide him with more information that he was going to see what the courts can do about my registration. Now the ticket was paid after the first time i spoke with the officer. Maybe another week after that I received another call when the officer asked me if I had more info and I stated no. He then proceeded to say I am going to file the legal papers. What can possibly happen with this situation? Can the state cancel my registration for this?

Re: $40 permit parking ticket

Given these facts I can see no basis on which your registration could be affected. I am also concerned whether this was an actual police officer. It does not sound right.
