Thank you for your question.

This may not be an easy problem to untangle, depending entirely on your family tree, and whether any of the persons you mention had wills.

You should sit down with a probate administration attorney and reconstruct the path of ownership of the property as it has been passed down or bequeathed through time. This is fixable, and the current owners should spend the time and money required to establish clear and good title.

I invite you to contact our office if you would like to retain legal counsel to assist you.
