Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts

My mother-in-law moved to live with us in Massachusetts. She has a valid New Jersey will. Is that New Jersey will still valid now that her legal residence is in Massachusetts?

You should have an attorney review it, but assuming that it is properly witnessed and notarized it is probably still valid. However, the Will is more than 5 years old it should be reviewed, especially if there has been a change in the status of the beneficiaries under the Will.

The cost of a review should not be very expensive.

A will is valid as long as validly executed in the place where it was drafted and executed.

But your mother-in-law may wish to seek a a review by an attorney here to insure it properly reflects her current wishes.
