Legal Or Not

I was hired by a small computer firm --I worked a little over two weeks. Things were going well and was asked to sign a contract saying that I would not start a computer business. Two days later I was let go due to no jobs. Am I bound by this contract? This person knew at the time that he was letting me go and he also knew that I was very good at what I do. Since I have not read the agreement, I cannot comment directly on the matter. However, usually the agreement is for a non compete during the time of employment. Check this with an attorney in your area.
