Legal Question in Business Law in Michigan
LLC Subsidiary Name
If I form an LLC but want to open an e-commerce site with a different name but under the same base LLC owndership, can I do this? Do I just need to reference on the ecommerce site that the site is a subsidiary of the LLC or does the ecommerce site need its own LLC?Thank you for your help.

You can file an Assumed Name Certificate for the ecommerce/new business so then you can advertise and operate under that name, instead of the LLC name. You can find the forms on the state's website and instructions, etc., on how to file your form. The forms are free. There is a filing fee though.
