Legal Question in Technology Law in Michigan

proprietary rights

I purchased a Laser system which included hardware and software, I purchased this system as used. The manufacturer of the software and shows has just sent me an email telling me that the people I purchased it from did not have the right to sell me the rights to use the software and shows. They ourchased this from him in 2001. I bought this not knowing, and I am sure the seller did not realize. Can he stop me from using the stuff or is his complaint with the people I purchased it from?

Re: proprietary rights

Yes, he can stop you from using the software without a proper license. He can sue you or the people from whom you purchased it. Be careful.
