Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

We have had a car reposessed and they are saying we still owe them over $9000.

Since we cannot make any payments we are wondering if they can take another car that is paid off to cover the debt?

The reason we lost the car is that my wife lost her job and we could not make payments. Also, my wife is facing a debt of about $7000 for her old credit card. Can they take one of our cars in an effort to recover some of the money owed.

Yes- cars are the easiest things for a court officer to seize and sell if they obtain a judgment against you. You might want to hire counsel to work out a payment plan or seek bankruptcy protection. Visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss further. Tim Klisz
