Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

collecting from family

I took out a car loan for my nephew he made every payment to me for the first year. I paid off the loan last year trying to protect myself. He owes me approx 8,000.00 for the car as well as another 8,000.00 for a lawyer he needed. I have a promissory note for the amount owed on the car but nothing in writing for the amount loaned for the lawyer. I made the payments directly to the lawyer on his behalf. His wife is now threatening to stop all payments to me for the loans. I have a detailled spreadsheet of what was paid out and when which also includes the payments I did receive from them. What can I do leagally to get paid what is owed to me?
