Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

Harrassing Phone Calls

Apparently a relative has listed me as 'someone close' on an account w/my phone number. Also, apparently, the account is in collections. We are receiving numerous rude, harrassing calls at all hours--where the callers are very aggressive. I have continuously asked them to stop calling, and they are very pushy and nasty with me. Sometimes they hang up on my children & me. They are disrupting our family time. What rights do I have? Do they have? Incidentally, I have passed the message on to my relative.

Re: Harrassing Phone Calls

I would be pleased to assist you in a lawsuit against the collections company. My fee would be contingent fee on winning as the law provides for the award of attorney fees. The collection agents are in violation of the Michigan and Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I have an article on my website at www.lawrefs.com if you desire further information.
