Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

Hospital Lawsuit against me

I am currently being sued by a hospital in which I owe $12,000 to. I was wondering what type of lawyer I would need to get into contact with and also what are the options that I have at this point in getting rid of this debt. While I am employed, I am currently living paycheck to paycheck and am starting to get further and further behind on all of my bills, including the hospital bill. If someone leaves me an email address or a number I can give more specific information.

Re: Hospital Lawsuit against me

Almost any litigation lawyer can assist you with this matter. You could try to negotiate a settlement with the hospital yourself, to save you lawyer fees, and see what kind of payment plan they'd offer you. However, you should have (and maybe did), explore this option prior to them suing you. Now that they've sue, they will want lawyers fees, costs, etc.

If you don't respond to the lawsuit, or it goes to the point where they get a judgment against you, they can and will garnish your paycheck until the judgment is paid off in full.

Re: Hospital Lawsuit against me

You have some options/defenses to this suit. Even if you owe the money we can control how much & how quickly you have to pay this back. We can try to negotiate a settlement to dismiss the suit and see if we can limit or alleviate the effect on your credit.

*Your ability to defend in this matter is significantly affected by how soon you respond to the summons. You have no less than 21 days from the date of service. If you default it becomes a little harder though not impossible to defend you. Don't delay in your response.

My fees are reasonable and I am willing to work with you as long as you some kind of income. You can reach me at 313.598.0565
