Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

monies given by a reletive

My mother in law is over 80 years old, and is living with another reletive. In the past she has given us monitary gifts. If she is required to be put in a nursing home, and the funds she has run out, can medicare come back and recoupe those monies.

Re: monies given by a reletive

It depends upon WHEN she gave them to you. Google "medicare lookback gifts"
