Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

I am two payments behind on my mortgage. I have signed a repayment plan agreement with my mortgage company. I still get a certified letter every month to accelerate foreclosure proceedings. I make my agreed upon monthly payment on time, why do they still continue with sending me these certified letters? Is this legal? They charge me the legal fees and add it to my past due amount. At this rate I will never catch up.

Look at your repayment plan agreement to see if it speaks to this situation.

If you have signed a repayment plan agreement, the fact that you are getting the certified letter may be a breach of that agreement. Consider writing a letter discussing that the certified letter is a breach of the agreement and disputing the legal fees. Send it certified mail return receipt requested. If you get no response, continue resending the letter, each time indicating "this is the x time I have sent this inquiry to you".
