Re: seizing property over a credit card debt

It sounds like there was a judgment entered and that the creditor obtained a writ of execution. There are exemptions for personal property with respect and so forth (things they cannot take)with respect to a writ of execution. Also, they may not be able to take property that is in joint name with someone else, that belongs to someone else, or that has a lien on it by a party that loaned you money and used personal property as collateral.

If you owe and debt and can work out a settlement, that may be a good solution for you.

Good luck.
