summons

a lawsuit summons was brought to my moms in Michigan they would not tell her anything about it, I'm in Florida what will happen if I don't find out what it's about before it goes to court

If your mother was served with a lawsuit which is directed towards you, this is NOT proper service of process. However, in the event this slips through the cracks, and the court thinks service was proper and you do not respond in time to the lawsuit, then the Plaintiff will proceed to get a default and a default judgment against you. In other words, by you not responding, they will automatically win, whether they are entitled to or not.

I strongly suggest you immediately get a copy of the lawsuit to determine what it is about and retain a lawyer to protect your interests.
