Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Open intox (public street)

I have been charged with an ''open intox'' in Ann Arbor, MI [holding a cup of beer while on sidewalk], City Code Ch. 109 9.80 I believe. This is my first offense and I want to know if there is a way to have some kind of deferred prosecution where I would pay a fine but avoid a criminal record. How do I proceed at the arraignment?

Re: Open intox (public street)

you need to plead not guilty at your arraignment and hire competent counsel. You do not want a permanent public criminal record for this criminal offense. Visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss. Tim Klisz
