Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

How can I get the PD to care about a crime that was committed?

Our company was the victim of theft by false pretense (fraud). Filed report and it was lost. Filed again and it was forwarded to the prosecutor. Both the prosecutor and the Detective quit and the files are now missing from both places. After numerous contacts with the police department (captain and detective) have stopped returning my calls. How can I get them to care?

Makes me wonder - Is the suspect someone's sister or daughter?

Make an appointment with the chief of police or the elected county sheriff, and/or the county's prosecuting attorney (or one of his/her supervising attorneys) and talk about this matter. The elcted officials are public servants, after all, and should give you some forum to discuss your concerns.
