Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Statue of Limitation for retail fraud 3rd degree?

I was just wondering what the statue of limitation is for retail fraud 3rd degree in the STATE OF MICHIGAN? Was not caught that I know of. On July 11th, 2008 I stole about $3 worth of stuff from my local grocery store. I've been back multiple times and no one said anything. The owners and multiple workers know me so I would think that someone would send something to me. But nothing. Like I said I've been in the store but I was wondering what the statue of limitation was for the store to press charges and what would I expect if I did get caught. I'm 21 and this would be my first offense.

There's nothing like guilt and remorse to vex you forever if you have a mind to.

Donate $100 to your favorite charity and forget about it (a savings of ~ $800 if you were charged). No one would prosecute this case even if you were I.D. later.

BTW it's 6 years, should you continue to worry.

For the full statute, see: http://www.legislature.mi.gov/(S(mgxown45stkr5345xofbtk55))/mileg.aspx?page=getObject&objectName=mcl-767-24
