Re: 3rd DUI

If you were "ready to be sentenced" you must have either entered a plea or been convicted, so you aren't dealing with a statute of limitations issue because you have already been convicted. When you failed to appear at your sentencing a bench warrant would have been issued for your arrest. The arrest warrant remains active in the law enforcement information network until it is resolved.Any contact with the police could subject you to arrest so long as the bench warrant remains active.

Drive very carefully. There is a bench warrant out for you and your bond money (if any) has been forfeited. If you get pulled over and the warrant appears on the officer's in-car computer, you will be arrested and brought back to Michigan.

If you want a worry free retirement, an attorney can get this resolved for you.
