Legal Question in DUI Law in Michigan

Do you have to give permission to police for them to adminster a PBT?

I was taking to the hospital in an ambulance where I was cared for and released the next day. I was asked multiple times by the doctor if I would allow him to administer a blood alcohol test. I repeatedly said no to his attempts to give me the test. However, the next day he told me the cops came to the hospital and submitted me to a PBT. I was never asked if they could do so. The police then issued a ticket for a minor in possession. Do I have any defense or are they allowed to give the test whenever they want?
