Legal Question in DUI Law in Michigan

Juvenille Misdemenor UIP and MIP

I was arrested in East Lansing, Michigan for misdemeanor urinating in public and

minor in possession. I blew a .098 at the local police station. I have to appear in

front of a judge in 4 to 10 days and I am not sure what my options are in this

case. Should I fight the charges or plead guilty? I am also unsure as to what the

punishment for Misdemeanor UIP and MIP are. I am hoping to avoid being placed

on the registered sex offenders list for this mistake. I appriciate any and all

advice you can give me.

Drunk under the age of 21 and peeing in public. Hardly the crime of the century in E. Lansing.

Don't worry about sex offender registration - you're not that bad and the state's not that interested.

You can plead to both and get no record if you do it right. An attorney can tell you how.

Maximum downside is probation which may not be inconsequential.
