Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Forged document to cease child support payments

My former brothe-in-law forged, and filed, a document with the friend of the court. This document was notarized, with a forgery of my sisters signature, and claimed to the court that they had reconciled and to please stop withholding child support form his checks. What actions can she take on this? This must be illegal, and there should be consequences for his actions. Thank you for your time.

Re: Forged document to cease child support payments

There is a good way to prove the forgery. It is a little expensive, however. If you can easily prove it is a forgery (such as when the person supposedly signing will testify that it is a forgery), file a criminal complaint with the police where the forgery occurred. Bill Stern 248-353-9400
