Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

motion filing

I have typed up a motion and I need to know how to file it. I need a judge to see it ASAP. I just wanted to know since I am doing my case Pro Per if I could take it to judges chambers just like a lawyer would do in the case of an emergency.

Re: motion filing

You should take the motion to the court clerk in the county where the motion will be heard. The clerk will tell you what the specific Judge's procedure is for dealing with emergency and ex parte orders. Even as an attorney, when I am making an emergency motion before a Judge that I am not familiar with, I go to the court clerk first. Good luck!
