Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Moving in with Fiancee

We are getting married in December 09. I am planning to move in with her in a few months but now i am hearing that my custody may be in jeopardy. People are saying that livng in macomb county they are tough with moving in before marriage and I have a 6 year old son. I have 50/50 so i am a bit confused and dont want to do to anything wrong. Is there such a law keeping me from not doing that?

There is not a law that governs this, but at the same time, there is a law still on the books that prohibits living with a member of the opposite sex that you are not married to. It was recently used as justification for allowing a landlord to refuse to rent to an unmarried couple. I have no idea if it has been used as far as custody issues, but the best person to ask as far as whether this will effect custody, is a macomb county family law attorney.
