Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Multiple state child support orders

My initial child support order is in Michigan (2 children) and I have two additional support orders (1 Child each order) in the State of Alabama. I currently reside in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I want the court in each order to review my support, can I have one attorney handle this? If not which state should I try and hire an attorney in?

Re: Multiple state child support orders

You could use one attorney if that attorney is licensed to practice in both states. If you have any further questions, please consult my attorney profile or my website, www.lawgreg.com.

Re: Multiple state child support orders

Greetings; You will need an attorney in each state where the orders originate. So, no, one attorney can not handle all the cases. Thanks, Atty. Trichler; www.trichler.com

Re: Multiple state child support orders

The laws of each state, while similar, are not identical. So, yes, you will need an attorney in each state. Michigan takes into consideration the child support you must pay for other children. Good Luck. John C. Talpos (http://www.Mich-Lawyer.com)
