Pension-retirement

I am surpose to recieve one-half of my x-spouses pension-retirement from a company that he no longer works at. He is not at retirement age nor am I. He became sick with a brain disease and can no longer work. Do I have any rights to claim my half now or do I have to wait for him to become 65. He was working at a different place when this happen. If I can how do I go about this. His wife now, also wants to recieve their 1/2 so she can use this to take care of him. Thank You very much. Hope you can help me.

You may have more problems than you think. Was a Qualified Domestic Relations Order entered? If so, that governs what you get and when you get it. If not, you really have some issues. Contact a good domestic relations lawyer. William S. Stern
